UKCA versus CE marking

Shortly, most probably from 1 January 2022 onwards, the UKCA mark will replace CE marking for construction products sold in the United Kingdom. Thanks to its long-standing relationship with UK conformity assessment bodies, BCCA will be able to support manufacturers getting things done that enable them to affix the UKCA mark.

For products covered by European Technical Assessments, UKCA marking is voluntary, as it is the case for CE marking. For such products, a UK Technical Assessment (UKTA) may be issued upon manufacturers’ request. Through the Belgian approval body, UBAtc, BCCA collaborates with its UK colleagues to ensure that BCCA’s clients can obtain a UK Technical Assessment and that European Technical Assessments, issued by UBAtc, may be converted into UK Technical Assessments.
